A Kid with Cancer Has Gotten Hundreds of Cards and Gifts for Halloween

There's a 7-year-old kid near Portland, Maine named Brock Chadwick who was diagnosed with brain cancer back in February.  He has a type called glioblastoma, and the prognosis isn't good.  (It's pronounced GLAI-oh-blass-toma.)

So to cheer him up, his great-aunt recently got on Facebook, and asked people to send him cards for Halloween.

She came up with the name "Brocktoberfest."  And it's gotten WAY bigger than his family expected.

Hundreds of people from all over the world have been sending cards, candy, books, and other gifts.

He's been getting about 100 packages in the mail every DAY.  And his mom says he's smiling a lot more because of it.

His family posted a video of some of the cards he's already gotten, and it's making the rounds on Facebook.  (If you want to send him something, you can address it to:  Brock Chadwick, 11 McKenny Dr., Biddeford, ME 04005.)
