Dunkin’ Launched A Sugarplum Macchiato For The Holidays

One of the best parts of the holiday season is sampling all the new themed menu items are our favorite restaurants and coffee shops. While Dunkin' always has festive drinks on their annual holiday menu, on Wednesday (December 2) the coffee chain revealed a brand new drink that will have guests feeling merry and bright.

Inspired by the 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' from The Nutcracker ballet, Dunkin' set out to create a drink that tastes like a sugar plum. The first question they had to ask themselves, of course, was "what in the world does a sugar plum taste like?" After 4 years of development, it seems like they've found the answer and released it as a new seasonal beverage.

The Sugarplum Macchiato is the newest addition to the Dunkin' holiday espresso lineup. The beverage features the "bright berry flavors of blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, and plum, accented by notes of vanilla, and rounded out with a sweet sugary finish." The combination of premium espresso, milk, and sugarplum flavor creates a "whimsical, light-purple, layered drink that you’re sure to see popping up across social media this December," Dunkin writes in a press release.

The Sugarplum Macchiato joins the rest of Dunkin's holiday menu, which includes the Peppermint Mocha Latte, Gingerbread Latte, and Chai Oatmilk Latte. This newest addition can be ordered as either hot or iced, as well.
