There’s a growing shortage of a must-have ingredient in the tea drink known as Boba. The San Francisco-based Boba guys posted a video alerting customers to the crisis. “It all started with the global pandemic which has caused major congestion and shortages in the supply chain,” the video stated.
So what is Boba? It’s made from tapioca, a plant-based starchy substance that is turned into balls that look like brown pellets. When Boba gets boiled, it turns sweet and chewy.
