Former NFL running backClinton Portisis heading to federal prison after he pled guilty to defrauding the NFL. Portis is one of 15 former players found to have pilfered the league’s health care account—submitting false expense claims for medical treatments that he and others never actually received.
Their entire house of cards eventually came crashing down and, Portis was sentenced to serve six months—followed by six months of home arrest. Portis will also face three years of supervised release after serving his time in a federal prison.
