T.I. Slams Candace Owens Over Her MAGA Support & Slavery Comments

T.I. was not here for Candace Owens' support of MAGA.

While on a panel at this weekend's Revolt Summit, the 38-year-old rapper and 30-year-old conservative commentator (and former friend of Kanye) got into a heated debate over the alleged racist roots of Donald Trump's controversial slogan "Make America Great Again."

"That was Ronald Reagan's slogan. Was it racist when Ronald Reagan had it?" Candace asked the crowd, which replied with a resounding "Yes."

T.I. then asked Candace, "When you say ‘Make America Great Again,’ which period are we talking about? The period when women couldn’t vote, the period when we were hanging from trees, or the crack era? Which period in America are you trying to make America like again?"

Candace, seemingly unable to answer the question, tried to evade it all together by spewing fake news, saying that America was one of the first countries to free its slaves — in reality, America was one of the last Western societies to end slavery. However, before she could get her full statement out, the crowd reacted with resounding boos, causing Candace to get on the defense and pivot the conversation. "If I can't answer the question and you're just going to boo when I say slavery was all over the world, which is a fact. Why are you booing a fact?" she said.

"Because you're making light of the enslavement of people that look like us," T.I. replied. "That ain't nothing you breeze over."

Candace then interjected, saying, "I haven't even finished the sentence. How am I making light of anything?"

"You started with some bullsh*t," Tip retorted.
